Position: Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Cardiology)
Locations: 103 River Road, Edgewater, NJ and 222 Cedar Lane, Teaneck, NJ (Must service
both sites)
Hours/Full time: Monday -Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Equipment: Philips Cardio MD Camera EHR System: Athena One
Cross County Cardiology is seeking a qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our cardiology practice. This role focuses on performing nuclear stress tests while maintaining full compliance with all federal (NRC) and New Jersey (NJ DEP) regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform nuclear cardiac stress tests (exercise and pharmacological) using the Philips Cardio MD gamma camera
Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to strict radiation safety protocols
Acquire, process, and archive high-quality images for physician interpretation
Maintain accurate patient records in Athena One EHR
Perform daily and periodic quality control on the Philips Cardio MD camera
Order and maintain supplies, radiopharmaceuticals (isotopes), and other materials for the nuclear lab
Ensure full compliance with NRC, NJ DEP, and facility radiation safety requirements (ALARA principles)
Provide excellent patient care and procedure education
Travel efficiently between both Bergen County locations
Requirements (Adhering to Federal NRC & NJ DEP Standards):

Requirements
Active New Jersey DEP License in Nuclear Medicine Technology (required)
Current national certification: CNMT (NMTCB) or ARRT(N)
Minimum 2 years of recent experience performing nuclear cardiology stress tests (exercise and pharmacological) in a cardiology setting
Philips Cardio MD camera experience is strongly preferred
Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
Thorough knowledge of radiation safety, NRC regulations, and NJ radiation protection standards
Strong computer skills and familiarity with EHR systems (Athena One a plus)
Reliable transportation and flexibility to work at both Edgewater and Teaneck locations
Ability to work independently while maintaining full regulatory compliance
Experience completing IAC (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission) applications for site accreditation is a plus but not required
All applicants must meet or exceed current federal and New Jersey licensing, certification, and training standards for nuclear medicine technologists performing diagnostic cardiac procedures.
