Assistant / Associate Professor Faculty Position
Cardiac Surgeon
UConn Health is seeking a Cardiac Surgeon to join the Calhoun Cardiology Center and the Department of Surgery. This faculty position offers the opportunity to work within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary heart team dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, and research.
Applicants must be fellowship trained in Cardiothoracic Surgery and be board certified or board eligible, with eligibility for Connecticut medical licensure. The successful candidate will participate fully in the clinical cardiac surgery program and contribute to its continued growth and development.
A strong interest in clinical cardiac surgery and mitral valve surgery is highly desirable. The ideal candidate values team-based care, demonstrates excellent communication skills, and is motivated to work closely with surgical partners, residents, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, intensivists, and allied health professionals.
UConn Health offers strong opportunities for clinical research and teaching. Candidates with an interest in clinical investigation, outcomes research, and the education of residents, fellows, and medical students are particularly encouraged to apply.
Three to five years of post-training experience is preferred but not required. Early-career surgeons with strong clinical interests and academic motivation will be given full consideration.
